There's No Such Thing As ... Time

... So let me waste no time telling you why I feel discontent towards this thing that readily passes us by.

Well see, at the age of five I could finally read time! So, for what felt like a second, I sat there and watched the clock tick, while carefully memorizing each hand's last position. Before I knew it a second had passed, but by the time I turned around an hour was lost and it would never be found again. Since that moment I have sat here in this chair while desperately holding on to its arms in order to keep myself from falling. Now … anxiety runs through me for I can still hear that tick, tock, but at the clock I refuse to look; for there is no such thing as time.

Charlie Rain is Starting Over

As I read through my blog I realized the context was all over the place, and far from anything that I had initially intended. Yeah random stories are great, but when they take over your “artistic blog”, everything just seems like an unorganized mess. My bestfriend told me that, “that’s what blogs are meant for”, but I clearly ignored her advice, because I went ahead and deleted an ample amount of blogs. Now my blog seems, is, so empty.

I donno what else to say … welcome back to ‘The Sound of Art’ perhaps?

Live in the moment

As I slowly gear into focus, my world seems a lot less hopeless. Then I let go of fear and simply live in the moment. If I remember all my dreams then I might remember where I'm going. Until then, I’ll just live in the moment.

Well Hello There!

I’ve been M.I.A. for a minute and my only excuse is that life had me. YEP! Its been so crazy that I didn’t realize how wonderful it feels to just breeethe (can you hear me take a breath?) My day was great, can’t complain, even though I did nothing more than sleep … that’s a word that has been missing from my vocabulary for a while now; but tomorrow at 4:15 AM reality will set in again for I have work at 6:30, YAY ME!!! (did you catch on to the sarcasm?) Well before I lay my head down and soak in 4 more hours of sleep, I made a conscious decision that I'm going to blog tonight because I haven't blogged for a while. I also promise that I’m going to be a lot more consistent with this ... I'm talking about blogging! PROMISE!

… but for now please excuse me as I go sip on my green tea.
Have a goodnight.

Exposed By the Sound of the Toilet

Occasionally I talk to my close friends while I'm on the toilet. Some people may refer to this as being rude but I call it being comfortable; however it would be quite disrespectful to perform such an act with someone who doesn't know me to a certain level. HOLD YOUR THOUHTS … before I get any sour looks, unfathomable judgments, and rotten tomatoes thrown at me, I would quickly like to mention that this isn't a one way thing!!!

... Moving on to the real story. Ehm (clears throat) : So today I called my girl while excreting some urine out of my system. Unfortunately for me the individual on the other end didn't pick up the phone until I had finished my business and was ready to flush. Now I know you are wondering, "what was so unfortunate about this moment?" but please be patient so that I can properly finish this story ... So as the voice on the other end greeted me, my hand reached for the handle (I had to google "Parts Of the Toilet" to figure out what this was called ... its kinda sad right, but its not often that I talk about the "handle"). At this moment a few petrifying things happened, a man said "hello"; I gassed for air ... too late I had already pushed down the handle; I quickly put him on mute; he said my name (DAM YOU CALLER ID); I was forced to un-mute the phone while closing the toilet and standing on top of it so that he couldn't hear the noise; I asked for her; the noise of the water in the toilet bowl continued to expose me for 5 more seconds; SILENCE; Him: "she's not in right now"; Me (while stuttering): Okay, cool, tell her I called; Him: Will do ... giggles; SILENCE ... I'm guessing he hang up?..

... I can't help but feel that I would have felt a lot less embarrassed if I was doing the #2 instead (then he wouldn't have heard the toilet flush).

Story of my life.

Get Rich or Die Tryin'

Get Rich or Die Tryin'

… and that he did!

After this picture had been revealed on the MTV After Show with Dan and Jessi I simply had to grab my laptop and reconnect with my keys. Many have strong opinions on 50 cent’s new appearance but I can’t even hate because he is doing what he set out to do, which is  to “Get Rich or Die Tryin”. This dude is a smart business man; Yep, a business man … and I honestly don’t even consider him to be anything more than that … nope, not even a rapper. By no means am I trying to knock his rapping skills at all (although I’m not a big fan of his work), instead I’m simply trying to imply that I don’t believe that he is trying to excel in just one industry because that’s not what entrepreneurs do, and that my friends is what I consider him to be; an entrepreneur.

See first he went into rapping, then he released his G-Unit clothing line, signed a deal with Reebok to start his shoes line, he is on a few video games (voice), he started G-Unit books, he endorsed vitamin water, and now he is playing the role of a cancer patient … I’m just saying don’t be surprised if he plays his role well and comes out looking like Denzel Washington or Will Smith … okay so maybe we shouldn’t dream that high, but hey I’m pretty sure he’s going to do just fine.

What is your take on all of this? Do you think he “sold out”, as I hear many artists around me say, or do you agree that he is simply just a smart business man?

Heck who am I kidding ... no one is going to reply to this because no one cares about 50 cent. Shoot, I know I don't ... weird right.

Kinky, Exotic, & Unique.

K i n k y, E x o t i c, &U n iii q u e.
In a world that consists of struggle, drive, and major competition one's ultimate goal is to win this erratic rat race. Of course I'm not referring to just any world, but the world of entertainment. While anyone can have the desire to entertain . . not anyone can entertain. There's a little food for thought !

A little while back I stumbled upon this rare breed of musicians that consist of a guitarist known as Dan Smith, and Jamie Morrison, who is the drummer, & of course the lovely little Ms. Shingai Shoniwa, who is both the lead singer and the bassist. It simply does not get any better than that . . . And that my friends is the trio that makes up this phenomenal group known as The Noisettes. If that name sounds familiar to you then you know exactly where I'm going with this. This group simply does not hold back, instead they take major risks with their raw music and their rebellious sense of style. They are definitely a force to be reckoned with and I can only see them vigorously climbing up all the way to the top. THE RACE ENDS HERE.

music is my hustle

... last week I performed @ a small venue along side 2 amazing artists, Enigma and Krims, better know by their group name, ConCord N' HaVoc. One of my besties accompanied me for moral support, the other was off on her exotic vacation [secretly jealous] ... I was hoping to have some pictures to show you but terrible lighting + "ghetto" broken down camera = pictures with terrible quality.

Go Head Girl Do You

GoheadGirldoYou !!!
(ALTHOUGH YOU DEFINITELY COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT)

Just yesterday I birthed my third blog & although it may seem too soon I'm not wasting any time. However, it really wasn't my intention to create another blog post so soon. I simply couldn't resist because this topic is way past its expiration date, & the longer I put it off the more expired it becomes. I'm pretty sure most of you caught the 2010 Grammy Awards, however I'm not here to give you a recap on that, because much like the topic that I'm about to bring to you, "thats old news". Moving on ... Those of you who observed Beyonce must've caught a glimpse of her sparkling hair. Those sparkling stings are better known as bling strands. This glamorous invention can be dated back to mid 2009, if I'm not mistaken, but just like all trends this one is recycled (refer to cleopatra days). Bling strands make the hair appear to be shiny, but whatever happened to the good old fashioned hair grease?. Just playing, I guess they serve as an accessory.

I personally (lets put that in bold letters then repeat) . . . I personally think that she looks like she just came back from a wedding, and the poor ol' thing got stuck in the middle of all the confetti throwers. Like honestly now, are you attending Barbie's 2nd birthday party :s !? Oh well, her music will make up for it.

If Beyonce keeps this up I can see a new trend about to blow up. And although I will never buy into it, its always nice to see someone finally reap the rewards for all their hard work. Congratulation to the creators of bling strands ! Keep cutting that string.

...Before I end this blog I wanna hear what you think. Bling Stands : hot/not/depends on the occasion? & Would you ever wear them?

-This is CharlieRain reminding you to keep shining !

Signing In

S i g n i n g  I n

Good evening world ... to those of you who go by mountain time. To the rest of you, good morning & good afternoon. If you are reading this you are in fact reading my first official blog ... well at least on this channel, for I am no stranger to blogger.com. I have been a member twice & its quite evident that I will never be able to completely depart from this site without shortly returning.

My first blogger account was nothing more than an organization of thoughts that I fabricated for my own personal amusement. It resembled something like a diary except for it was far less intimate. Not once did I look for followers nor did I announce that I had been blogging, but within that year I had complete strangers find me at random. Their fascination in my work kept me on this site for far much longer than I had anticipated, but soon after, time didn't permit me from enlightening my readers with random stories from my hectic lifestyle. I couldn't tell you why I chose to delete my blogs without simply leaving them up until I made a sudden return, but I did. The second time that I had rejoined this site was for one purpose only. To follow Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. Yes ladies ... Travis McCoy. I am no stalker, but something about this man is just so mesmerizing, not to mention his light sense of humor or his talent. Also the way he carries himself is just sooooooo ... hummm?! I can't think of a proper word, in fact, I don't think there is such a word out there to describe his persona. Now I'm back for many reasons. One being that I love to express myself through the fabrication of words during those occasions when I am not rumbling on in someone's ear, another being that I would like to share my thoughts on the artistic world around me .. my world. So you can expect to find anything that involves an ounce of art in it, but of course this won't be limited to what most refer to as art, for art is merely a form of expression. So I do invite you to go on a wild ride with me on this insane roller coaster I call my mind !!! Be ready for some pure randomness, loud opinions, and enlightening thoughts that make their way out of the corners of my mind all the way down to my finger tips, and on to the letters that are imprinted on my keyboard. That pretty much summarizes it; do expect the unexpected
You've been warned, so all thats left to say is, "Welcome to The Sound of Art".
